This wine is bound for Japan, and it cannot leave as it is.
Food and drink sold in Japan must carry a Japanese label stating:
- The product
- Country of origin
- Volume
- Additives
- The importer
Labelled bottle by bottle
Before a shipment leaves, the cartons are opened, every bottle is labelled and everything is repacked. Method Global's Auckland and Christchurch teams both carry out this work for exporters. It is careful, hands-on work, and part of preparing an export for the Japanese market.
Get the label wording early
Because the label must name the importer in Japan, the wording usually comes from your Japanese buyer. Request the final label text as soon as the order is confirmed, so labelling can be booked alongside the freight without delaying the sailing or flight.
Labelling and freight, one team
The same team can handle labelling, repacking and the export freight, so the shipment goes from your cellar door to the wharf or airport without changing hands. See our beverage shipping service or book a logistics review.
